We went to the flea market this morning. I saw this gal on a table with a tag marked Baby Doll-Very Old-at least 95 years-$15 Now, I don't know if she is indeed 95 years old..but you can tell she is old..I'm not real sure what her head and limbs are coated with..She does have some major damage, but she is just so sweet I couldn't resist..I got her for all the $$ in my wallet..$12...not too shabby, huh?;o)
She does have eyes that close when you lay her down. The guy selling her said that the old lady(who is 99)is in a nursing home, and I guess relatives were cleaning out her home..and they were going to THROW her out..the guy said no way, because she was obviously special to the old lady if she held onto her all these years..I told him I'd give her a good home...Now Michael has a baby sister..LOL
I would like to thank Betsy of Foothill Primitives, Mo of Wings and Paws Primitives, and Jeanne of Wildwood Studios for awarding me with the Blog Awards...I'm supposed to award 7 people for every nomination..and that would be like 21...LOL I hereby award this Blog Award to all of my favorite blog links...including the three lovely ladies that have given me this award!! Thank you:o)!
Here is my latest witch dollie...she's on Ebay right now...Click Here to see all my new Ebay offerings!
I can't believe how fast summer is going..we haven't been doing much except hanging out at the pool...I have been very bad at updating my blog and visiting other blogs...I did receive an award from several friends...stay tuned..I will post it soon:o)!
Sometimes I wish there was another day in the week, I feel like I am so behind... My son had soccer camp this week, so I was busy taking him back and forth..and of course we had to take advantage of the sunny days we had to go to the pool:o)! Well, today was his last day of camp...it was run by the local pro soccer team The Pittsburgh Riverhounds, and the pro players worked with the kids and taught them some cool moves:o)! A big thanks to the players for taking time out to share their knowledge and skills!! Go Riverhounds!
I also was very lucky to win some cool things...I won a give-away from Flora of Bonehead Studios...a very cool Halloween goodie...and from BJ of Daughternature Primitive Folk Art an awesome and very Prim Log Cabin ornie!! It has been raining since we got home from camp, so I did not get a chance to take pics of my prizes...Bear with me, I will do so soon:o)! Thank you Flora and BJ!! You girls rock!!
The rain gave me an opportunity to start some doll work...I haven't sewn since last week and I was having withdrawals...LOL
Here is one of my new listings on Ebay...An Izannah Walker inspired doll:
This is an email that I got from one of the teachers at my son's school:
Some of you may remember that we produced a video in May to enter a contest sponsored by Big Lots. The good news is that we are one of 4 Pennsylvania schools that qualified as finalists!! The bad news is that we are one of 171 schools across the country that are vying for the $10,000 grand prize. (There are also other substantial monetary rewards.) We are hoping to establish a literacy center with the monies we may receive.
At this point in time the way to win is by encouraging as many people as we can to vote up to three times a day per computer that they own ( For example in my household our family owns 3 PCs, 2 laptops, and 1 editing computer. If everyone votes daily, that translates into 18 Maloney votes per day.) Voting is easy:
Follow the link below or log onto " lots2give.com." Once you've accessed the homepage, enter our state and the North Versailles zip code 15137. Our video entitled Green Valley Book Band will appear in the upper left video box. Please view our video at least once: it is not necessary to watch the screen over and over again in order to help us out with your vote. You can click 3 times quickly, submit and then go on to your other online activities. There is also a link to share our video with a friend. Please do that too.
If you would be able to do this, we'd be most appreciative!! Click Here to see our school's video and vote!!
